Patek Philippe 18k yellow gold Ladies NOS with hangtag
A Patek Philippe women’s watch from 1967 that has miraculously stood the test of time.
Imagine: it’s 1967, the year this watch left the Geneva workshops. While the world around it changed, this particular example sat untouched in a vault for decades. This makes the watch New Old Stock (NOS); a “new old stock” that has never been sold or worn. The fact that the original hangtag is still attached after almost sixty years is the ultimate testament to collectors of its pristine status.
The watch embodies the glamour of the sixties. The square 18-karat yellow gold case creates a dazzling contrast with the 10 brilliant-cut diamonds on the bezel. These diamonds are precision-cut into 57 or 58 facets to ensure maximum brilliance.
What makes this design truly unique are the details:
The strap: A characteristic, integrated Milanese mesh bracelet in 18k gold drapes like a soft fabric around the wrist.
The dial: Minimalist and classic in champagne or silver, protected by a precious sapphire crystal.
Integrated crown: The crown is designed to sit completely beneath the case edge. This maintains the watch’s sleek, square profile, making the timepiece appear more like an elegant piece of jewelry than an instrument.
Engraved Calatrava cross: The crown is signed with the iconic Calatrava cross, the symbol of Patek Philippe. This is a key detail for authenticity and demonstrates the attention to detail, even in the smallest details.
Linen texture: The side of the gold case features a beautiful, delicate engraving that resembles a textile texture (also known as a “linen finish”). This hand-engraving seamlessly blends into the texture of the Milanese bracelet, testifying to the highest level of craftsmanship.
Beneath the gold dial lies a technical masterpiece: the Caliber 13.5. This legendary mechanical movement, with a diameter of only 13 to 15 mm (13.5 French lines), was specifically designed for the ultra-thin women’s watches of the time.
Despite its minuscule scale, quality was not compromised. As a true hand-wound movement, it features Patek Philippe’s high finishing standards, including a Gyromax balance wheel for superior accuracy.

All the way back in 1839, Franciszek Czapek and Antoni Patek founded Patek, Czapek & Cie. in Geneva. The two Polish watchmakers manufactured pocket watches until an argument drove them apart in 1845. Patek teamed up with French watchmaker Adrien Philippe and in 1851, Patek, Philippe & Cie. was officially registered and the story of arguably the finest of watch manufacturers was truly underway.
The company would amass an impressive array of firsts and records. Among which the first perpetual calendar pocket watch, first split-second chronograph wristwatch, first perpetual calendar wristwatch and for twenty-seven years they held the record for most complicated watch movement: 33 complications.
Yes, we have entered the realm of haute horology.
The house registered its Calatrava cross logo in 1887. The Calatrava would later become one of the brand’s celebrated collections and even a design template for other brands.
Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin form what is lovingly referred to as the Holy trinity of watchmaking. Three houses that specialized in haute horology, pushing the boundaries of mechanical watchmaking, decoration and finishing techniques.
Much like Rolex and Omega rule the everyday-watch category, the Holy trinity rules haute horology. A sentiment reflected in Patek’s motto since 1996: You never actually own a Patek Philippe. You merely look after it for the next generation.
