The Rolex Datejust comes in many shapes and forms. Being in continuous production from 1945 all the way up until today, that makes a lot of sense. What we have here though, is the quintessential execution if you ask us!
On offer here is a reference 1601 from 1973. A four digit reference, indicating we are dealing with a non-quickset model with a lovely three dimensional pie-pan dial. The “01” refers to the bezel type, which is a fluted white gold variant in this case. No bezel plays with the light quite as nicely!
The silver dial with stick markers completes a super clean look. In fact, this might very well be the archetype of a vintage Datejust. And isn’t it simply beautiful?!
