Rolex Orchid Ref. 284
At AWCo, we are honored to present a watch that is as delicate as it is eternal: the Rolex Orchid Ref. 284, crafted in 1976. This is not merely a watch , it is a jewel, a bloom that forever graces the wrist of its wearer.
In the 1960s, timepieces began to transcend their function. They became intimate statements, wearable works of art that captured both style and soul. The Rolex Orchid embodies this vision perfectly: an 18-carat white gold treasure, sculpted with the elegance of a flower, set in an octagonal case of 23 x 25 mm, delicate yet striking in form.
Its blue dial, with a soft linen texture, glows like morning light on petals, while 16 brilliant-cut diamonds encircle it, sparkling like dewdrops kissed by the sun. Within, a hand-wound movement pulses quietly, a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship and precision that brought this creation to life.
Every line, every angle, every diamond has been placed with intention ,a serene harmony of geometry and grace. It does not demand attention; it invites contemplation. It whispers elegance rather than shouts it, carrying a story that flows effortlessly across generations.
For the collector attuned to beauty in its most subtle forms, this watch is more than an accessory. It is a treasured blossom, a celebration of art, refinement, and timeless femininity.

Rolex is the absolute king of everyday watches. If it is haute horlogerie or the pinnacle of artistry in finishing techniques you are after, look elsewhere. But for pure everyday function, ruggedness and refinement, Rolex wears the crown.
The brand was founded by Alfred Davis and Hans Wilsdorf in London in 1905. In 1908, the name “Rolex” was registered. The brand would put a host of firsts and records to its name in the decades that followed. From the first chronometer rated wristwatch in 1910 to the first wristwatch with a water resistance of 100 meters in 1953.
A range of waterproofing measures, among which a screw-down-crown, resulted in the famous Oyster case. Up to this day it is the basic platform on which the vast majority of Rolex watches is built. Model names often feature both the Oyster (water resistance) and Perpetual (self-winding movement) terminology, followed by a specific model designation such as Datejust or Submariner.
Both modern and vintage Rolex watches are highly sought-after. They are broadly appreciated for their timeless designs, functional toughness, reliability, brand recognition and value retention.
