Audemars Piguet Hexagon 18k
Step back into the 1980s, an era of bold hairstyles, striking shoulder pads, and an abundance of glamour. In this decade of self-expression and extravagance shines a watch as unique as its time: the Audemars Piguet Hexagon from 1983. This rare ladies’ timepiece is a perfect example of how craftsmanship and design meet in a watch that is both elegant and full of character. At first glance, your eyes are immediately drawn to the distinctive 26 mm hexagonal case, a shape that stands out in a world dominated by classic round watches. Crafted from 18-karat yellow gold, the case radiates a warm, luxurious glow that dances with the light. Yet the true masterpiece lies in the details: the case features a double row of rope-like decorations, a refined motif that Audemars Piguet masterfully incorporates into its designs. This detail adds texture and depth, making the watch instantly recognizable to connoisseurs. Even the crown is subtly designed with a winding-back feature, a small yet remarkable touch that reflects the brand’s dedication to perfection.
The two-tone dial complements the golden case with subtle elegance, while the bezel, almost like a delicate drape, adds a sense of refinement and movement. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal, which not only protects but also allows the rich colors and elegant pattern of the dial to shine brilliantly. With a 12 mm lug width, the watch sits perfectly on the wrist, highlighting the finesse of its design.
Inside ticks a manual-winding movement, a mechanical heart that invites attention and care from its wearer. Hand-winding this movement literally connects the wearer with the centuries-old tradition of watchmaking, a ritual still cherished by modern horology enthusiasts. The watch comes with the original 18-karat AP buckle, keeping the piece authentic and complete. What truly sets this watch apart is its combination of design, craftsmanship, and timeless elegance. It is not merely a time-telling device; it is a statement, a piece of wearable art. It captures the spirit of the 1980s yet does so in a way that never feels dated. It exudes confidence and sophistication and is perfect for the woman seeking something unique, something that carries both history and style on her wrist.
Who will dare to wear this beauty? Perhaps you, and perhaps this watch is precisely the piece of history that completes your personal style.

Audemars Piguet was founded by Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet in 1875. The name Audemars Piguet & Cie was registered in 1881. AP is regarded as one of the holy trinity watchmakers, together with Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin.
Audemars Piguet has a rather impressive list of innovations to its name. From the world’s first minute-repeater wristwatch movement (1892), to the first jump-hour wristwatch (1921) and the first skeletonized watch (1934).
AP is particularly skilled at making thin movements. In 1946, they set the record for the worlds thinnest watch caliber at 1,64mm’s. They would later repeat their thinness-record-breaking habit with a tourbillon movement and later with the world’s thinnest automatic perpetual calendar.
Audemars Piguet is well known for its formal watches. From the Calatrava style watches of the early 20th century, to the elaborate haute-horology marvels of today. Their single most successful watch is something else entirely though: the Royal Oak.
The Royal Oak singlehandedly saved Audemars Piguet and much of the high-end Swiss watchmaking industry in 1972, by providing an answer to cheap quartz watches: the luxury steel sports watch. A design by Gerald Genta that would set a template for everyone. Since then, every watchbrand strives for a hit sports watch in steel. It is the horological equivalent to the Christmas hitsong.
AP has been particularly successful with the Royal Oak’s many variations since. From precious metal and complicated variants, to the more brutalist Royal Oak Offshore line. But even if you look beyond the sports models, there are many highly refined gems in both the current lineup as well as throughout the house’s illustrious history.
If a Rolex is like a Porsche, then an Audemars is like a Rolls Royce. It is every bit of luxury dialed up to eleven in an elegant, old-world kind of way. It is equal parts tradition and craftsmanship. If that speaks to you, look no further!
