Calatrava style

Ulysse Nardin werd in 1846 opgericht. De eerste horloges worden geëxporteerd naar Midden-en Zuid-Amerika via een Parijse dealer, Lucien Dubois, die Nardin’s enige klant was voor twee jaar. In 1878 wint de zoon van de dan overleden Ulysse Nardin de Gouden medaille op de Parijse Wereldtentoonstelling. Paul-David Nardin krijgt een gouden medaille op de Parijse Wereldtentoonstelling voor zijn zak Marine Chronometer. Deze zeer precieze uurwerken werden gebruikt om op zee te navigeren en al snel kreeg Ulysse Nardin de naam in deze specifieke ‘nauwkeurigheid instrumenten’. Over de hele wereld werden in de zeevaart Ulysse Nardin chronometers gebruikt.

Dat het merk ook meer eenvoudige horloges en uurwerken maakte, bewijst deze ‘Calatrava stijl’ Ulysse Nardin met decentrale secondenwijzer. De wijzerplaat heeft zeer fraaie Arabische indexen en prachtig vormgegeven wijzers. De diameter van de stalen kast is ongeveer 35 mm. Het uurwerk is een handwinder en uiteraard volledig onder hand genomen.

Het merk Ulysse Nardin is een niet veelvoorkomend merk, dus exclusief en voor de liefhebber. Dit horloge wordt geleverd met het originele doosje waar het destijds in is verkocht. Leuk en bijzonder.
