The Patch:
<The Apollo 10 patch was based more on the mechanics and goals of the middios than the philosophy of the space program or of the astronauts flying this mission. It showed a big Roman Numeral X supposed to give the three dimensional effect of sitting on the surface of the Moon..> Gene Cernan, Lunar Module Pilot.
Deze Speedmaster met de Apollo 10 patch is, volgens het uittreksel uit het Omega archief, op 30 april 1998 geproduceerd en vervolgens geleverd aan Amerika.
Omega heeft, om het veertig jaar bestaan van de Omega Speedmaster te markeren, in 1997 een koffer met 23 Speedmasters uitgebracht ter ere van de drie NASA programma’s: Gemini, Apollo en Skylab. In deze koffer zaten 22 Missie modellen en één replica model van de eerste Speedmaster, referentie CK 2915. Er werden veertig van deze koffers voor verkoop aangeboden. De modellen in deze koffer kregen de Missiebadge in de ‘subdial’ op de 9 uur positie en het achterdeksel werden gegraveerd met de naam van de missie en het nummer van de betreffende koffer.
Aanvullend op de koffers werden 21 van de 22 Missiemodellen geproduceerd en in 1998 uitgebracht in niet genummerde aantallen van 100 tot 150 stuks. Alleen het 22ste Missiemodel, Apollo 13, werd niet opnieuw uitgebracht omdat deze 1995 al werd uitgebracht in een reeks van 999 stuks.
