Green enamel, yellow gold and a winged lion on the back. This Ulysse Nardin San Marco Ref. 131779 is not exactly trying to be your average dress watch, and that is very much the point.

Dating to 1995 and measuring 37 mm, this San Marco has a warm 18k yellow gold case with a wonderfully elegant profile. The long, flowing lugs give the watch a slightly more dressed-up character, while the green leather strap keeps the whole thing rich, playful and just a little unexpected.

The dial is where the watch really comes alive. Its green enamel surface has a deep, almost jewel-like quality, with a fine patterned texture that catches the light beautifully. Roman numerals at twelve and six bring a classical touch, while the slim markers, date window at three o’clock and chronometer text keep the layout balanced and practical. It is formal, but with a wink.
