Corum Admirals Cup Ref. 56111

Before the Admiral’s Cup became what we now associate it with (all nautical flags and twelve-sided cases), it looked a little more unexpected.

This Corum Admiral’s Cup Ref. 56111 dates to 1981 and comes in a 30 x 30 mm stainless steel case. Square, slim and slightly offbeat, it feels more like a small design object than a typical sports watch.

The silver dial keeps things clean, with slim hands, the Corum signature and text running around the edge of the dial. That detail gives the watch a graphic, almost playful character, while quietly hinting at the maritime story behind the Admiral’s Cup name.

The brushed steel case, acrylic crystal and black leather strap keep the whole piece understated and easy to wear. Turn it over and the engraved Admiral’s Cup caseback brings the sailing connection properly into view.

Inside is an automatic movement. A neat little Corum with a square case, silver dial and just enough nautical eccentricity to make it memorable. Available at Reestraat 3, Amsterdam.
