Rolex Submariner ref. 14060M B+P+SP

The Rolex Submariner is an icon – a quintessential piece in any watch collection. Ever since it was introduced in 1954, the diver watch has been a mainstay in Rolex’s stable

Prior to the launch of the Submariner, Rolex had already been known to produce watches that are water-resistant. Since the early 1930s, Rolex produced a line of watches called the Oyster. Hans Wilsdorf – the founder of Rolex – filed the patent for a waterproof case in 1926. The Oyster was made famous a year later when Hans gave Mercedes Gleitze a Rolex Oyster to wear the Rolex Oyster when she attempted to swim across the English Channel.

In 1989/1990 the 5513 was followed up by 14060, a very clean looking watch. Equipped with the caliber 3000. also called ‘two-lines’. Then in 1999, it was updated to ref. 14060M. M stands for ‘modified’. The movement changed from caliber 3000 to 3130. Changes between 3000 and 3130? A full balance bridge was introduced against the balance cock of the 3000, a larger balance wheel, and Breguet overcoil against a flat overcoil of the caliber 3000. The number of jewels also went up from 27 to 31.

This Submariner is from the year 2005 and comes with original box and papers and Rolex service papers. There is a new Oyster bracelet put on this diver, stickers are still on it. The state of this watch is really excellent. This full set is ready for the next adventure!
