In 1865 richtte de 22-jarige horlogemaker Georges Favre-Jacot zijn eigen fabriek op in het Zwitserse deel van Neuchâtel. Zijn drive om exceptionele tijdmeters te maken met het beste vakmanschap kwam tot uiting in een naam synoniem aan onder meer succes en kracht: Zenith. Gedurende de afgelopen 148 jaar maakte Zenith prachtige handgemaakte uurwerken op dezelfde locatie. Duidelijk vanwege een groot talent, was Favre-Jacot de eerste horlogemaker die alle onderdelen van het horlogemaken onder een dak bracht. Heden ten dage is Zenith een van de weinige uurwerkmakers die haar producten volledig in-huis maakt.
Mahatma Ghandi, de vader van het Indiase nationalisme, gebruikte een Zenith uurwerk. Hetzelfde uurwerk (een zakhorloge) werd in 2009 tijdens een veiling in New York voor meer dan 2 miljoen Dollar verkocht.
Roald Amundsen, een ontdekkingsreiziger uit Noorwegen, was de eerste persoon die in de vroeg twintigste eeuw zowel de Zuidpool als de Noordpool bereikte en droeg een Zenith horloge tijdens zijn expedities.
Deze Zenith is gemaakt van rose goud, iets wat vroeger veel minder vaak werd gedaan dan nu. Neem eens even de tijd en gebruik de “loupe”functie van onze website. De Dauphine wijzers, Dart markers, en arabische 12 maken het een feest voor het oog. Ook fijn is dat het formaat iets groter dan normaal is.
Uiteraard is ook dit horloge door onze specialist uurwerktechnisch volledig in orde gemaakt en komt met een jaar garantie.
