‘convertible’ ref. 3418
Deze Patek Philippe met referentie 3418 is in 1958 geïntroduceerd en werd het meeste met een stalen band verkocht. De eigenaar had echter de mogelijkheid om de stalen band te wisselen voor een lederen band dankzij een ingenieus ‘convertible’ systeem onder de kast (zie foto’s). Deze referentie met een waterdichte kast en de stalen band werd geproduceerd voor landen met een tropisch klimaat. Het dragen van een lederen band in dit klimaat is niet aan te raden.
Eigenlijk komt het niet vaak voor: een Patek Philippe met een stalen kast. Daarnaast raakt het systeem voor het vervangen van de band vaak kwijt. We zijn derhalve blij dat wij het nog hebben en het u kunnen aanbieden. De diameter van het Calatrava model is circa 35 mm. Het horloge is in een zeer goede staat en is alles wat u van een Patek Philippe zou mogen verwachten: verfijnd, exclusief, manufacture uurwerk en waardevast. We hebben een uittreksel uit het archief van Patek Philippe aangevraagd zodat we het exacte productiejaar kunnen achterhalen, vandaar dat we circa 1960 voor dit horloge hanteren.
