Patek is een merk wat sinds 1839 kwalitatief hoogstaande en bijzondere horloges maakt, een merk wat legendes als het ‘Graves-zakhorloge’ heeft gecreëerd en een merk wat bij veilingen keer op keer records breekt. Wat Rolls Royce voor de auto-liefhebber is, wat Attolini is voor de liefhebber van maatpakken: op die hoogte staat Patek. Het mooie aan het merk is dat het zowel Haute Complications (een moeilijke term voor complexe horloges) maakt als meer ’eenvoudige’ horloges. Ondanks de eenvoud zijn ook deze horloges op hoogstaand niveau afgewerkt en voorzien van schitterende ‘manufacture’ uurwerken.
Het uurwerk in dit horloge is kaliber 10-200. Een uurwerk met elegant gevormde bruggen met afgeronde randen (het zogenaamde ’anglage’), een mooi fijnstelmechanisme en meer details laten zien dat Patek deze klasse waardig is. Een ‘fine piece of watchmaking’. De vorm van de kastpootjes lijken op de oren van Batman, vandaar de bijnaam ‘Batman lugs’.
Dit horloge verkeerd in een zeer goede staat. Compleet met originele 18k gouden gesp. het horloge wordt geleverd met een uittreksel uit het archief van Patek Philippe. Op basis van dit uittreksel blijkt dat het horloge in 1957 is geproduceerd en op 5 december van dat jaar is verkocht.
