Chronograaf ‘Swedish Military’
Horloges met een militaire achtergrond zijn enorm gewild onder verzamelaars en liefhebbers. Er zijn verschillende boeken over geschreven waaronder ‘Military Timepieces’ door Konrad Knirim (te verkrijgen in onze winkel). In dit boek staat een vermelding van een militair horloge van het merk Pronto, hetzelfde merk als het horloge wat wij hier aanbieden. Er wordt in het boek melding gemaakt van een Duitse importeur van horloges genaamd ‘Walter Storz, Pforzheim’ die het merk Pronto in de jaren veertig in Duitsland verkocht. Pronto horloges werden gemaakt door Leon Maitre & Fils Manufacture d’Horlogerie uit Le Noirmont Zwitserland.
De Pronto Chronograaf uit circa 1971 die u hier aantreft, heeft op het achterdeksel de kenmerken van de Zweedse Krijgsmacht. Er is verder niet veel bekend over wanneer dit horloge geleverd is aan de Zweedse Krijgsmacht en aan wie. Feit is wel dat de gravure klopt. Het uurwerk van dit horloge is een Valjoux 7734, een betrouwbaar handwind uurwerk met chronograaffunctie wat door verschillende horlogemerken is gebruikt. De staat van het horloge is zeer goed te noemen. De kast is tonneau vormig en de wijzerplaat is prachtig zwart met een in het oog springende rode secondeteller.
Dit een mooie chronograaf met een twist, want wellicht ooit gedragen door een Zweedse officier. Hoe leuk is dat!?
