Chronograaf
Op de foto’s ziet u een polshorloge met het prachtige merk Minerva. Het afgebeelde exemplaar is gemaakt in 1946 en het is een schitterend voorbeeld van een ambachtelijk gebouwd chronograaf uurwerk. Alle chronograaf onderdelen zijn prachtig afgewerkt met een mat glanzend geslepen oppervlak. De hefbomen worden aangestuurd door een zuilenrad, dat elke keer als men de start/stopknop indrukt de hefbomen zodanig aanstuurt dat de andere chronograafonderdelen in de juiste stand worden gezet. Het schakelt bijvoorbeeld het centrale seconderad aan en uit waarop de centrale secondeteller geperst is.
Het vakmanschap zie je ook aan de schroeven met hun perfect vlak gepolijste koppen. Het horloge heeft een schroevenbalans, een Brequet-spiraal en een lange ‘naald’ aan het kompas waarmee dit uurwerk toen al behoorlijk nauwkeurig afgeregeld kon worden. De kast heeft een diameter van 35 mm, wat groot was tot een kleine vijftig jaar geleden, maar nu helemaal in is. De kast, wijzerplaat en wijzers hebben het patina dat bij een horloge van die leeftijd hoort.
Het horloge is, zoals u ziet, in staal uitgevoerd. Mechanische, stalen chronograven zijn in momenteel. We hebben een paar mooie exemplaren in onze collectie die we u graag laten zien.
