De bijnaam ‘sharky’ komt van de vorm van de kastpootjes, als een haaievin. IWC horloges met deze kastvorm en -pootjes komen in verschillende gedaantes voor. De verschillen zitten met name in de kleur van de wijzerplaat, de vorm van de indexen en het soort edelmetaal (geel of rosé goud). De kast van deze IWC is gemaakt van 18k rosé goud en de wijzerplaat is ‘champagne kleurig’. Het bijzondere zit in de indexen. Want een wijzerplaat met een Romeinse cijfer index op de 3, 6, 9 en 12- uur, zult u niet vaak aantreffen. De wijzerplaat heeft een paar plekjes, maar is volledig origineel en daar houden we van.
Het uurwerk is het bekende caliber 89, ontwikkeld door Pellaton. Dit uurwerk is betrouwbaar en sterk. Om dit zeker te stellen is het uurwerk nagekeken en schoongemaakt, eventuele versleten onderdelen zijn vervangen door originele onderdelen. De diameter van het horloge is een respectabele 37 mm en dat is best fors voor die tijd. Kortom, een chique dresswatch van een gerenommeerd horlogehuis, voorzien van betrouwbaar uurwerk en een mooi formaat, tja, wat wil een horlogeliefhebber nog meer?
