Breguet is een van oorsprong Frans horlogemerk, waarvan het hoofdkwartier is gevestigd in Zwitserland. Het merk werd opgericht door Abraham Louis Breguet in Parijs in 1775. Momenteel is Breguet onderdeel van de Swatch Group en worden de horloges vervaardigd in het Zwitserse L’Abbaye in het district Jura-Nord vaudois (tot 2007: La Vallée) in het kanton Vaud. Het is één van de oudst overlevende horlogemerken en het merk was vaak een pionier bij de ontwikkeling en introductie van verschillende technologieën op het gebied van horloges en uurwerken. Hun ongetwijfeld bekendste uitvinding is het tourbillion, in 1795 uitgevonden door Abraham Louis Breguet zelf. Ook introduceerde het merk ’s werelds eerste polshorloge.
De Marine horloges zijn gebaseerd op de traditionele waarden van Breguet, die vertaald zijn om sportieve horloges te ontwikkelen. De Marine horloges beschikken over alle kwaliteiten die A.L. Breguet heeft ontwikkeld als chronometer maker voor de Franse Marine. Deze Marine Big Date komt met originele doos, papieren en Breguet servicepapieren. Het horloge komt uit circa 2006. De diameter van het horloge is een kloeke 40 mm. De wijzerplaat is prachtig two-tone zilver. De kastvorm is verder typerend voor Breguet. De prachtig bewerkte rotor, te zien door het saffierglas van de achterzijde, is van 18 k geel goud. Het horloge heeft een nieuwe, originele Breguet kroko band met 18k gouden vouwsluiting.
Dit is een prachtig, klassiek horloge van één van de beroemdste horlogemakers uit de ‘Haute Horlogerie’. Een investering meer dan waard.
